DOING OUR DUTY FOR THE GLORY OF GOD
We look back with gratitude and look forward in faith and anticipation. We cannot live on the blessings or the victories of the past. We should endeavor to be steadfast, unmovable but also always abounding in the work of the Lord.
Our theme verses for the coming year are two:

So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.
Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

       I.            DOING OUR DUTY:
A.      Duty should never be looked at as drudgery.
1.       We can do our duty willingly and joyfully.
2.       God loves a cheerful giver, whether it is financially or in service.
3.       We must never give of ourselves grudgingly but willingly and cheerfully.
B.      Dr. Art Wilson’s Acronym for duty:
D   Defend The Faith
                                Deny Self
                   Depend On God.

U    Understand The Scriptures
                                Use Illustrations.
                Undertake the Difficult.

T     Take Heed To Thy Self.
                                Try The Spirits.
                Tell The TRUTH.

Y                    Yield to God’s Will.
                Yesterday’s Past, Conquer Today.
                Yonder-Must Give Account.
   II.            DOING OUR DUTY FOR THE GLORY OF GOD: 1 Cor. 10:31;
1.       Let’s do it for His Glory.
2.       Not vain glory or personal glory of any kind but the glory of God
Another man who was a great influence on me said,
“That which you do, do for the glory of God, or else you may one day quit.” Pastor Robert M. Neisen
