The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse

There’s something about the Lighthouse that makes me love it so.
It’s more than just a church house where on Sunday’s we would go.

It’s more than just a building where we gather midweek to pray.
In fact, it’s kind of a run down building if the truth be known today.

It needs some paint and finish and the carpets are kind of worn,
yet my feelings don’t diminish because the structure is a little torn.

In the summer, it’s very hot and in the winter, it’s a little cold.
But it’s still my favorite spot, and of others I am told.

There’s something special about the Lighthouse, and it’s not our odd church
steeple.

What’s special about the Lighthouse, is all the special people.

That’s what makes the Lighthouse – the people that attend
They make it feel like your house – time and time again.

We have certainly had our troubles, especially in the past.
But God takes care of troubles and the troubles come to pass.

We still put up with fussing; I’m not saying we’ve arrived.
But it’s God that we are trusting – because of Him we have survived.

Yes, Lighthouse is a special place to us who worship there.
Some have come to find God’s grace as the Gospel we would share.

It’s there that Jesus Christ is preached and many souls are won.
It’s there that many have been reached and new lives have begun.

Someday, we’ll hear the trumpet sound and a voice shout. “Come up hither!”
And the Savior we’ll all gather round; beyond the Jordan River.

We’ll all assemble as Christ’s bride as we gather in the air.
And there forever we’ll abide with the Lighthouse over there.
